35 years is a long time between drinks by any measure. But that is how long it has been since Black Sabbath’s last album with Ozzy Osbourne way back in 1978. Despite Ozzy no longer sounding as he once did its still great to hear him back in the fold with his former bandmates. The downside is they could not come to terms with Bill Ward, the band’s original drummer. So close to being a full reunion of the original lineup, but not quite. They do sound like the Black Sabbath of old however and Brad Wilk, of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, ably pounds the skins in Bill’s chair.
Its also their heaviest sounding album since the 70s and most of the material would not have sounded out of place if released circa 1970-72. Welcome back Ozzy!
