It’s always nice to find out an artist you admire’s influences to see if they coincide with your own ideas of what inspires them. As a self-confessed KISS tragic I was very pleased to find out today that Ace Frehley is releasing a new studio album in April. It is a covers album of the tracks that inspired him as well as a few KISS songs he has not sang on before despite composing two of them. It is entitled Origins Vol.1 with a possibility of a second volume down the track.

Origins Vol. 1 to be released in April 2016

The album will feature cover versions of tracks originally performed by Cream, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Jimi Hendrix and more. Some guest artists will also feature including Slash, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, John 5, Lita Ford and for the first time in many years a recording with Paul Stanley. Like most KISS fans, I can’t wait!
